"BE PREPARED"
Troop Scout Leaders
- Scouter "Samwyz" (Samuel) Doug Brown
BIO: Husband, Father, Friend and Scouter. True to my nickname and the character I was named after, I was a follower and friend in my youth. A friend said, "lets try scouts", I agreed and here I am, still today with a short 9 year break when I moved to Huntsville. When I came back to the area, Les Kent asked if I would consider leading the Sundridge Cub Pack and the rest is history. Since 1989 I have been volunteering as a leader. Recently I saw a social media post that tried to calculate the amount of hours a leader puts in. I can assure you its more than a couple hours per week. My oldest daughter was one of the first young female to become a Troop member, in Burk's Falls. Having her join, began a trend with the group in 1998. In over 47 years as a member, countless youth have passed through the record books and has always been a pleasure to see young people mature into their teens and years later as a young adult. "You know you are getting old when", past members are having children, successful in careers and say hello even when you cannot remember their names!
Scouter "SPARKY" Rob Stenning
Rob was a youth member of Scouting in Sundridge. Joined the Area Scouts 7 years ago and brings with him many skills that the youth and us leaders all benefit from. When not putting long week at work, he is either on an outing with family or with us in Scouts. Camping could be a middle name, since when he is not on a scouting outing he will be travelling to an new campsite with his family. In the picture beside Bio, Sparky is carrying on the tradition of Diaper Diving.

"Echo" has volunteered on many occasions, so it made sense that she become a member and leader. Echo has been a great asset to the Scout Troop by assisting the Troop on Cookouts and Camps.
BIO: My name is Amber Stitt a.k.a Scouter Echo. I am a mom to two grown children and a daughter in Scout Troop. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator with the Near North District School Board and have 10 years of professional experience in the care and development of children from birth to 12 years old. I love being out in nature and enjoy camping, kayaking, exploring new places and learning new outdoors skills. My daughter and I love animals and have a dog, two cats, two rabbits, two turtles, two goats and four chickens. I'm new to the area but I enjoy being involved in the community and my time spent volunteering with 1st Burks Falls and Area Scouting. My 2024 New Years Resolution is to "stop procrastinating"
